I have a heart rate/pulse ox monitor. I was using it to see my heart rate when excercising. I have been wearing it to bed to see my heart rate, and noticed my heart rate drops to the 50%26#039;s- 40%26#039;s when drifting off to sleep. This seems slow. It is normal 60-80 during the day. Should I be concerned about the low heart rate??????
Why does my heart rate drop when laying down to sleep?
No need for concern. It%26#039;s called Resting. Other body functions slow down as well. If your body kept functioning at the same pace at rest as when you are active you would constantly be tired and eventually have some life threatening medical issues. Rest is good, You can stop monitoring now and get some sleep.
Why does my heart rate drop when laying down to sleep?
it%26#039;s normal to have a low heart-rate when falling to sleep becasue your heart slows down when drifting to sleep
Why does my heart rate drop when laying down to sleep?
Not unless your doctor is concerned.
Your heart rate is supposed to drop when you sit, and again when you lie down. Your heart doesn%26#039;t have to do as much work to pump blood through your system when it doesn%26#039;t have to fight so hard against gravity.
Why does my heart rate drop when laying down to sleep?
All of the systems of your body slow down when sleeping. Thus resting. =)
Even your breathing slows.
Why does my heart rate drop when laying down to sleep?
the heart is resting it is not at hard work to supply oxigen for great muscular movements and increase in cell metabolism so it does not need to increase in rate to prodruce a good supply of oxigen to the muscles and cells to act....
