I got my answer from another question I had with how many calories in 1kg.. but my exerise bike does monitor my pulse, does that really have anything to do with the calories and would it be correct? I was suggest getting a heart rate monitor for calories.. anyone tell me ?
Pulse rate with exercise bike?
Your pulse rate doesn%26#039;t really have much to do with your calories burned. Granted, the higher your pulse is the higher your calories burned will be, but you can%26#039;t really calculate calories burned by only using a pulse rate.
You can use this website to calculate how many calories you burn during exercise.

For instance, someone that weighs 200 lbs. would burn 180 calories by doing 30 minutes of leisurely bicycling.
Pulse rate with exercise bike?
If you want to lose weight and burn fat, you should exercise at an intensity, typically between 50 to 70% of your maximum heart rate. When you exercise at higher intensities, yes, you still burn calories but you burn mainly carbohydrates rather than body fat. Many heart rate monitors give you a calorie count. There is a big list in the box below.
