I just start cardio exercise a month ago, My heart rate monitor sometime show my heart beat between 180 to 190+ after 15 minutes of cardio . ( I manually check my pulse and get similar result ) I %26#039;am 42 years old , 170 pound, Is it kind of danger to my heart ? My resting heart beat around 80 per minute and I didn%26#039;t really exercise at all in the past 25 years. Thanks
My heart beat over 190 per minute during the cardio exercise, I%26#039;am 42 year old ,did I push myshelf too hard ?
when exercising your heart rate should be 220 minus your age then at 80% of that which for you age would be around 143, I would see a doctor have it check but I wouldn%26#039;t worry to much, my heart rate monitor sometimes has mine at 200+ then it freaks out and gives me no reading. as long as you feel ok when doing the exercise then keep going if you feel funny at all stop immediately

Go see a doctor. Basic rule for target heart rate is 220 minus your age. Erratic rate could be trouble........

You should probably start off with something a little less strenuous than cardio, then over time, work your way up to a more vigorous cardio excercise. As always, consult your doc first. You certainly do not want to over-do it. I take heart meds now, but when I had a treadmill test at the cardiologist%26#039;s office, my heart got up to 190+ after only 3 minutes... it took yours 15 minutes. I beat you by 12 minutes!!! HA HA.

You should work within your target heart rate, when you exercise.
The target heart rate depends on your age.
There%26#039;s a simple formula to calaculate your target heart rate.
You can read all about it here: http://www.perfect-body-toning.com/targe...
If you go by the target heart rate, you%26#039;ll always be able to workout at a level of intensity that%26#039;s not too hard that your heart and body feel overloaded and you injure yourself nor too light that it%26#039;s rendered ineffective.
Another way of testing whether you%26#039;re doing your heart ok during exercise is this - if you can carry on a conversation while exercising, then you%26#039;re fine.
Exercise within your target heart rate will alwyas give you a satisfying workout.
