Heart rate recovery. Is this normal? IF not, how can i improve?

21 year old male. In good shape. However, just started running regularly on the treadmill for the first time since running track as a freshman in high school.

ran at a 9 minute mile pace for 30 minutes. After the run was over I stopped and watched my heart monitor. My heart rate was 160 before I stopped running.

It took about 4-5 minutes for my heart rate to come to 120.

Then, it stayed between 100-115 for about 10 minutes.

Then it stayed between 90-100 for about 10 minutes.

Then it stayed right around my normal resting pulse of about 72.

Of course I did walk to my car and then drove home.

I had an echocardiogram done and it came back normal.

If I run for 30 minutes a day will it improve? How long to see improvement?

Nothing is wrong with you, 100% guarantee. Continue with your routine. Drink lot of water AND GET RID OF THE COUNTER.

It can take several months but it will gradually improve. Soon, you%26#039;ll witness a 160 BPM immediately after the run, then within 3 minutes your pulse will drop to less than 80. You are on your way to great shape.
