I%26#039;m looking to buy a heart rate monitor and have settled on a polar for now but was wondering if there was actually any major difference between the female and male versions? Or is it just the same?

I think that the difference is in the size of the wrist strap. The male one is longer/larger and suits larger wrists whereas the female one is shorter/smaller and suits smaller wrists. You also get to choose the colors for the female ones. Polar F4 and F6 both offer male and female versions.
